We want Olfology to be a welcoming space for people who love fragrance — to share opinions, ask questions, and discuss scents openly and honestly, including disagreement. To keep it that way, we ask everyone to follow these guidelines when posting comments, reviews, notes, or any other user-generated content on this site.

What's Not Allowed

The following will not be tolerated in any comments, reviews, or other content submitted to this site:

Harassment or bullying — targeting another user, reviewer, or staff member with insults, threats, or repeated unwanted contact.
Violent language — content that threatens, glorifies, or incites violence or harm against any person or group.
Hate speech — attacks or demeaning language based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.
Abusive or inappropriate language — profanity directed at others, sexually explicit content, or language intended to degrade or humiliate.
Spam and manipulation — fake reviews, coordinated review-bombing, advertising, or off-topic promotional content.
Impersonation or misinformation — posing as another person or brand, or knowingly posting false or misleading claims about a product.
Sharing private information — posting another person's personal or contact information without their consent.

Enforcement

We reserve the right to take the following actions, at our discretion, when content violates these guidelines:

Removal — Comments, reviews, or notes that violate this policy will be removed without prior notice.
Warning — A user may receive a warning for a first or minor violation.
Temporary suspension — Repeated or more serious violations may result in a temporary posting restriction.
Permanent ban — Severe violations (threats, hate speech, targeted harassment) or repeated offenses after a warning may result in a permanent ban from commenting or posting on the site.

Enforcement decisions are made by our moderation team and are final. We aim to apply this policy consistently, but context and severity are always taken into account.

Reporting a Violation

If you see a comment, review, or note that violates these guidelines, please report it so our team can review it promptly. Use the "Report" button next to reviews, questions, and answers throughout the site, or email us at hello@olfology.com.

Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was restricted in error, you may contact us at hello@olfology.com to request a review.
