Datura

A bright white bloom in a cool, narcotic haze. In 2026, I cultivated over two dozen Datura innoxia and Datura metel plants in my garden and would stand among their cool night blooms in a dreamy trance, plucking delicate threads of scent in my mind. I would then take notes, and formulate. Daturas are highly toxic and can't be used directly in perfumery. It cannot be captured, only reproduced, and the goal of my project was to make a definitive fragrance that is faithful to this, my favorite of the sacred flowers, Datura. I brought my samples into my night garden to smell them side-by-side. The bottle before you contains my highest and best result. It is with all humility that I say I do not think I could do better. Datura is one of my longest-lasting fragrances. It is unique among florals. It is bright, narcotic, and gently earthy.
