Spicy, zippy tomato leaves, freshly mown grass, and sparkling petitgrain offer enthusiastic greetings to harried passersby. Forgetting where they’d meant to go, they turn to follow teasing whiffs of rice flowers to the mossy garden heart where herbs and lisylang grow in abandon. They rest here for as long as their spirit wills it, often until the sky deepens to a rich purple haze and night creatures flash in the darkness, reclaiming their terrain.
