Cartomancy

A deck of well-handled cards, a plume of incense, and the warmth of a dozen candles. Notes of nag champa, patchouli, dragon's blood resin, and a bit of creamy honey to tempt the Other Side. Cartomancy is the art of divination using a deck of cards. These days we see plenty of readers using Tarot cards, but other decks can be used, too, including standard playing cards. The practice dates back to at least the 14th century, though many believe it originated long before. Our homage to this art is a spicy, incensey blend of nag champa and dragon's blood resin, underscored with earthy patchouli, and warmed with our vegan beeswax/honey note. Image via Alina Vilchenko.
