Argos Danaë Perfume

Niche

A sensual and divine Eau de Parfum inspired by Gustav Klimt’s iconic portrayal of Danaë, a luminous blend of bright bergamot, Sicilian lemon, warm cashmere woods, pink peppercorn, and opulent Mysore sandalwood. Radiant, seductive, and mythically captivating. DANAË is a captivating fragrance from the Argos Artist Series I, inspired by the 1907 oil painting by Gustav Klimt, a masterpiece of Symbolism. Danaë was a favored subject in early twentieth-century art, representing divine love, spiritual awakening, and transcendence. According to legend, while imprisoned in a bronze tower by her father Acrisius, King of Argos, Danaë was visited by Zeus, descending as golden rain, a symbol of celestial desire, divine union, and destiny. Klimt’s artwork depicts Danaë wrapped in a royal purple veil, representing her imperial lineage as she embraces the golden stream in a moment of sensual revelation and divine transformation. Danaë would later give birth to Perseus, one of mythology’s greatest heroes. This fragrance honors her story, sensual, radiant, intimate, and deeply powerful. Argos Danaë opens with the brilliance of Bergamot and Sicilian Lemon. The heart evolves into a seductive blend of Pink Peppercorn, Guaiac Wood, Cedar, and Cashmere Woods. As the fragrance settles, it reveals an intimate base of Sweet Cistus, Patchouli, Mysore Sandalwood, and Intoxicating Musk, leaving a divine, lingering aura. Comes in 30ml as a personal indulgence and 100ml for those who refuse to run low.
