The girl visits her mother in dreams, murmuring of crime and cruelty. Justice will be done. Notes of black amber, patchouli, spanish moss, bergamot, oak, and frankincense. The story of the Greenbrier Ghost is that of the murder of Elva Zona Heaster Shue (who went by Zona), thought to have been killed by her husband Erasmus. Her death, though strange, was initially judged to be due to natural causes. Her mother claimed to be visited by Zona's spirit, who accused her husband of having broken her neck. Zona was exhumed for autopsy. Injuries consistent with homicide were found, and her husband was eventually convicted. While officials state that there was no mention of Zona's ghost during the court proceedings, the tale of the Greenbrier Ghost is often spoken as the "only known case in which testimony from a ghost helped convict a murderer." Our homage to this tale is a dark and incensey blend, earthy and a bit damp, with spicy Spanish moss and black amber.
