Calico Koi

Notes: lemongrass, basil, ginger, turmeric, osmanthus, sweetened toasted coconut, and  sticky riceIt was my last summer working at the art museum and I was now interning as a collection photographer alongside the rest of the staff who were working on preserving, cleaning, and documenting pieces of east asian art from across China, Korea, and Japan. I spent dozens of hours every week with these pieces and across many of them, I would spot recurring themes and images, my favorite was the orange and black spotted koi.
